Update from the Nov. 16, 2020 Court Status Conference

On Monday, Nov. 16, the City of Ventura had a status conference with the court. Resulting from that conference, the court has scheduled another status conference for Feb. 9, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. This allows the proposing parties (the coalition of large water users who have put forth the proposed physical solution) to continue the meet and confer process until approximately the end of January.

Additionally, the court approved the use of a stipulation to the Physical Solution. This stipulation will be an available option to parties who either support or do not oppose the Physical Solution.  The stipulation can be used in lieu of an answer, and would only require a $20 court filing fee rather than the normal fee of $435.

The current deadline for named parties to respond to the City’s Third Amended Cross-Complaint is January 29, 2021. If you wish to learn more about the physical solution by participating in the meet and confer process, please contact Elizabeth Balloue at [email protected].

To participate in the meet and confer process, you will need to sign a confidentiality agreement. If you just have general questions, please contact Patrick Skahan at [email protected].
