Yesterday, the Court held a status conference in this case. The outcome was that the Court set another status conference for Monday, Aug. 17, 2020.
At that next status conference, the consumptive users group (the large water users involved in settlement discussions) will present a proposed schedule and process for the Court’s and parties’ consideration of the proposed settlement (the official legal terms are a stipulated judgment and physical solution). The group advocating for this settlement anticipates that the process that will be presented will provide the other parties with time to assess and comment on the proposed settlement, and ultimately determine whether they will support or oppose the proposal.
In the next few weeks, the City will be mailing out a postcard informing people of the August 17 status conference.
